Sometimes with easy planets and large fleets you only need to touch the planet with the tip of your fleet to capture it. At which point you immediately redirect away. | | Re: tinny's reign of terror :: Jan 20, 2012 @ 6:16am |

It's important that you send the perfect amount of ships to where ever they need to go. No more, no less.
So how do you know if you've sent the right amount?
1. When you capture a planet with one or two ships left.
2. When you've defended from an attack after you sent ships and you have one or two ships left.
3. When someone surrenders and you can see that your attack has reduced their ship count to one or two ships. | | Re: tinny's reign of terror :: Jan 20, 2012 @ 6:32am |

Go on chat as you're playing. Bust out your laptop or computer and join chat while you play on your phone. Now you and your partner (also on chat) should be critiquing each other and pointing out mistakes for each game. Not just each game session.
I know I know.. Baby can't handle criticism. Let's all smile and stroke each other.
Trust me. It's the fastest way to learn (the chat not the stroking). | | Re: tinny's reign of terror :: Jan 20, 2012 @ 7:06am |

It's really hard to win a game when you and your partner arent in sync.
An experienced player in sync with a noob can do pretty well against two experienced players who aren't in sync.
Sometimes you and your partner will just click and everything seems to flow like water through your fingertips. You're dancing the Tango while your opponents are stepping on each other's feet.
Unfortunately, most of the time your team can't even get a basic two-step happening.
So how do you synchronise with your partner?
Sometimes there are maps where there is only one winning position and whoever holds that position wins. In this case, you can only pray to your gods your partner chooses the correct path. Nothing more can be done.
Sometimes there are maps with one preferred winning positions and a secondary winning position (eg. cluster vs outer planets). In this case, if you want to sync then you must FOLLOW YOUR PARTNER.
You can only win a position if both you and your partner go for it. If he decides to go for the secondary position then it is your duty as the "experienced" player to align yourself with his strategy.
This won't always win because the secondary position is usually slightly weaker than the preferred position. However, doing one thing while your partner does another will almost certainly lose.
Therefore, YOU must synchronise.
- The opening moves are crucial in seeing which path you partner will take so its important not to spend ships until you know where your partner is going.
- Noobs usually attack more than necessary so be prepared to defend a lot.
- Conserve your ships. You'll need them to fix his mistakes.
- Dont send large amounts of ships to a single planet to your (noob) partner unless its crucial because they'll often be overlooked and just sit there.
You can probably think of a whole lot more.
Watch your team mate. Watch where he send his ships, align yourself to HIS strategy and DANCE!post updated on Sep 8, 2012 @ 12:20am | | Re: tinny's reign of terror :: Jan 4, 2013 @ 3:50pm |
