I know some of you have been asking about bugs and feature updates and whatnot in Galcon Flash. Right now this project is on hold since I've got quite a few other things I'm working on now.
I'm not sure when I'll get back to messing with this, but probably eventually.
Cheers!

Except for some occasional connection error related bugs, galcon doesn't have any deal breaking bugs that need immediate attention.
In fact, i would appreciate it if the connection error bugs got primary attention once you start working on flash again, a way to quit galcon and reclaim the planets you lost on quitting (unless they are claimed by other players in the mean time) would be really nice. That would allow you to reload galcon when anything strange like in the "Attack of the Bugs" topic happens. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 23, 2009 @ 2:20am |

And some way for the admins to check the IP adresses,
for multi counts ?

FlashGalcon needs a few improvements, especially admin-side features:
IP display in front of each player ('cause we got many "multicolor" ***s who ruin the game)
Efficient BAN system ('cause bans simply dont work) | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 26, 2009 @ 8:50am |

Sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you may want to go ahead and just play the desktop version. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 26, 2009 @ 10:51am |

In the other hand, please at least "open" the server sourcecode and I'll have a look. I can do it, thats my job actually. If he doesnt have enough time to fix these quirks, i'll try to find some hours. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 26, 2009 @ 11:15am |

Desktop Galcon is WAAAAAAY better than Flash Galcon and I tried to explain this simple, OBVIOUS point to a full room of Flash players, but they failed to understand the words coming out of my mouth. It was so infuriating that they would feel the flash version of a game would be better than the actual PC/Mac version of a game that I just stormed out in disgust after a few minutes of trying to explain.

Btw, desktop was included when you paid for flash. And the desktop version is superior for the most part to flash. Seriously.

Flash is not bad. I enjoy Desktop more, but imagine if Flash had a large market... they'd be trying to convince us to start playing Flash.
The point is, they want to play Flash they should play Flash. We shouldn't be trying to pull them away from Flash if they're interested in Flash.

Basically, lots that the Flash players complain about endlessly is fixed... ALREADY... in the Desktop version that those who paid for Flash get for FREE! And those who did not pay for Flash/Desktop can, um, ask around for ways to play Desktop for longer than 3 days *wink*wink*wink* or just buy the **** game for $8. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 27, 2009 @ 2:29pm |

As for this... are you guys insane?! Flash Galcon does still need to be improved (the bugs should be fixed) and then it needs to serve as the conduit between the rest of the world and Galcon for PC/Mac and iPhone/iTouch! It can be spread to websites like Kongregate and other Flash Gaming websites and through Facebook. The possibilities are endless. It is madness to consider discontinuing Flash Galcon. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 27, 2009 @ 3:25pm |

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. However, while all of this is true it's still your opinion. Maybe some Flash users don't want to have to wait for the version to load or something, I don't know. But if they want to play Flash then they should have that right. | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 27, 2009 @ 3:30pm |

It takes the same amount of time to get to a game in Desktop Galcon as it does in Flash Galcon. Besides that, anyone can have any opinion. It doesn't mean the opinion is logical and if it is obviously illogical, it must be called out. And what I have is an opinion based on FACTS, so it's hardly just an opinion.
I don't believe in encouraging idiocy lol. If no reasons can be made as to why Flash is better than Desktop, then there isn't any reason someone should be playing Flash instead of Desktop. It's that simple. It's like someone walking around with their eyes closed and using a walking stick, because they "like it better" than walking around with their eyes open.post updated on Oct 27, 2009 @ 3:31pm | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 27, 2009 @ 5:15pm |

I just think that if they want to play Flash because they like that type of game we shouldn't keep pressuring them to sign up for Desktop. They paid for Flash and now for us to tell them that updates will be scarce and they should play a different game, I think just isn't fair.
But then again, I am all for more Desktop players... | | Re: Galcon Flash on hold for a while :: Oct 27, 2009 @ 7:47pm |

I'VE HEARD ABSOLUTELY NO LOGICAL REASON TO PLAY FLASH OVER DESKTOP!
if someone has one, i'll be happy to hear it >_> |
