So, if you are in-game you'll consider 3 lines of something similar as spam, but if you're in the lobby-menu you'll think 3 lines of something similar isn't spam.
So it would be better if we had 4-5 chat lines. Because 1) It would be better for iPad-player and 2) it would annoy admins less in thinking three lines of similar chat is spam.
There maybe isn't much space to add 1-2 lines of chat, but you could make the planet spawn closer to the bottom of the screen and it would all be solved. Also you can have the planet spawn closer to the top (avoiding the flag and if you use steam avoid the "friend request" button).
You could also add a chat in the middle of the screen where the chat displays and after 5-10 seconds it disappears. And maybe a button for the chat history or menu with things you can do on the bottom of the screen.post updated on Aug 1, 2012 @ 5:52pm |

And this issue has been raised before. What would be ideal is for iPad players to be able to bring up the text box over the whole screen to see what's been said, and then send it back down again. |

That just sounds obnoxious and distracting. |

There's only so much screen real estate and I (and I'm assuming most fusion players) like to play on fullscreen. Thus, to use both at the same time, you have to be constantly minimizing/maximizing fusion. |

If you play on windowed mode the game will not be precise. For example: If there are 10 ships flying (in the beginning of the game) and they land on a planet, it will be 8-9.
An alternative, if you use Steam you can use that in-game to go to chat on galcon.comm, but I'm having a bug where you can't fill in you password on Steam... |

I was meaning more less talk more play, ergo I do not care a huge amount for chat in game..
However I do recognize for others it is a big ++. Majority wins. |

This idea was for iPad.
The chat function is pain on the iPad in game as you can only ever see the most recent 3 lines of text. You can hardly take part in in-game conversations.
I also veto Marky's -100 as there's obviously no valid reason for it. |
