Location: Texas | Classic just takes more skill to win the same amount. A 12 way FFA is much harder than a 6v6. One is a 50/50 chance average, the other is just above 8% chance average. |

Lets say that you play 100 games of each teams (6v6) and FFA (12 player), and win the number that statistics say you should.
Teams you will win half of the games, that is 300 wins and 300 losses (50*6) in your stats
FFA you will win 8 1/3 games. You will have 91 2/3 losses in your ranks (100-8 1/3) each loss counts as one loss because you only lose to one person. You will have 91 2/3 wins (8 1/3*11). Each win will count as 11 wins because you beat 11 people.
Statistics wise you have the exact same chances in teams and FFA. Of course it is impossible to win 8 1/3 games, or win/lose 91 2/3 games, but the theory is there. You have the same chances in both. |

I disagree about the statistics. It would be a LOT easier to get to GA in teams.
Firstly in FFA, only one person can win; whereas in teams half the people can concievably win. This has huge implications when it comes to "weight". Win or Lose, you can get 6 weight in teams for each game.
Although winning in FFA can give you upto 11, most players will not win games in FFA. They have a lot less chance of winning than 8%. If me, capple and muse were in the same FFA game, against a bunch of red flags, the only difference the red flags make, is between which one of us three would win.
Because of the differences in weight, the bottom few ranks mean (cabin boy to captain) mean absolutely nothing in teams. Teams has much more players at admiral and higher than FFA (43 one stripes compared to 21 one stripes).
For this tournament to apply in team as well as FFA. Teams would need one or two more meaningful rank levels.
Edit: As for the actual tournament, I think it would be just as good to flip a coin and say heads=muse wins GA quest, tails=sarcasmo wins GA quest. :)post updated on Jun 19, 2010 @ 6:37am |

As nanno said, unfair games still count in FFA, and you also can rely on others if you suck...
Again, as I explained without considering skill, suicides, ect. your percentages are the same statistically.
