1. Brainstorm! Come up with just some ideas:
computers, tech , electronics , circuit , etc.
2. Plot out just a simple outline
3. Stage lighting , and enhance the map's outline.
Although this differs by what game you are playing
4. Add the challenges , enemies , traps , puzzles* , and anything under this category..
5. Add easter eggs , score boosters, and more of the "fun" stuff that adds "oomph" to the game or lvl. that you are creating.
6. Beta testins!!! This is probably the most boring part , just playing the same thing over and over again.
7. Publishing time!
* Plan out the puzzles and traps during step 2 !post updated on May 21, 2012 @ 5:29pm | | Re: Steps to designing a level :: May 22, 2012 @ 6:37pm |

I would also like to say that maybe think more about creativity or story.
Creativity in the sense that maybe using the traps and enemies in ways not yet seen or used much in other ways.
As for story, It's hard to make a story with a game that doesn't really use words. But this can be emphasized by gameplay mechanics, puzzles, and setup.post updated on May 22, 2012 @ 6:37pm |
